James Cathey Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Cathey of Skiatook, Oklahoma, who passed away on May 8, 2025, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid James farewell, let us not mourn the absence of his physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of his spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For James is not truly gone, but merely transformed, his energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Edd Cathey and Martha Ellen Cathey (Chandler); and his siblings, Frances Cathey Laird, Wilford and Lawrence Cathey.
He is survived by: his wife Virginia Louise Ray; his children, James Michael Cathey (Patricia) of Tulsa, Karen Cathey Mosshammer (James) of Oklahoma City and Sherri Cathey Ledbetter (Tom) of Coweta; his siblings, Betty Cathey and Fred Cathey; and his grandchildren, Dorian and Jasmine Cathey.
