She was predeceased by: her parents, Manuel Martinez, Sr. and Mary Lee Martinez; her birth mother Sally Tarango; her brother David Morales; and her granddaughters, Madilyn and Evelyn Phillips.

She is survived by: her husband Michael Phillips (Mike); her sons, Tymothee Phillips (Julianna) and Jonathan Phillips (Kaylee); her siblings, Albert Morales Sr., Daniel Morales Sr., Ruben Martinez, Manuel Martinez Jr., Becky Green, Ernest Morales, Michael Tarango and Mary Ann Tarango; her grandchildren, Bailey, Atticus and ZoeyJane; and her close friends, Wes and Colleen Goldman.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, she put her sewing skills to work by making masks.
