With sadness, we share the passing of Melba Lois Large of Spiro, Oklahoma. Melba, born on November 23, 1940, passed away on October 30, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Andy Pipkins and Esta Pipkins (Gregory); her husband Bob Large; her son Russell Andrew Mathis; and her siblings, Mary Joyce Welker, Linda Pipkins, Tom Pipkins, Gary Pipkins and Paul David Pipkins.
She is survived by: her children, Chris Mathis (Peggy) of Rayville and Becky Devrow (Camp) of Fort Smith, Arkansas; her brothers, Aaron Pipkins, Roy Dan Pipkins (Shirley), Kenny Pipkins (Karen) and Gerald Pipkins (Nancy); and her grandchildren, Joshua Mathis (Christina), Jessica Biddix (Adam), Jamie Mathis (Chloe), Winter Mathis (Justin), Brandon Ward (Ashley), Shellie Humphry (Josh), Amanda Chrismer (Jordan), Jeremy Clayton, Daniela Devrow, Darlena Devrow and Jordan Brock. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Monday, November 2nd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the The Cedars (520 Dewey Ave, Poteau, OK 74953). A burial will be held on Monday, November 2nd 2026 at the Macedonia Cemetery (1002 Karl Ave, Pocola, OK 74902).
