He was predeceased by: his parents, William Roosevelt Sexton and Edna Leona Sexton (Raimer); his daughters, Maryan Sexton and Glenna Starr; his grandson Brad Goforth; his son-in-law Steve Merz; and his siblings, Linda Marks, Wanda Hollie, Gerald, David and Jerry Sexton.

He is survived by: his wife Erma Sexton; his children, James Goforth (Becky) of Muskogee, Belinda Marrel (Darryl) of Porum Landing, Jeannie Merz of Briartown, Wendell Sexton (Cheryl) of Kinta and Elaine Morton (Stuart) of Porum; his grandchildren, Robert Crossland, Wes Marrel, Ty Marrel, Amanda Cowett, Katie Keifer, Bailey Sexton, Josh Sexton, Colton Morton and Robert Merz; and his sisters, Correna Bryant (Philip) and Lavern Hiser. He is also survived by 15 great grandchildren.
