With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Carmen Dorris (Stillwater, Oklahoma), who passed away on April 5, 2019 at the age of 83. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her fathers, Otis Dermer and Vern Dermer (Hughes); her former husbands, Dick Lehnert and Troy Dorris; her son Chris Lehnert; and her brother Richard Dermer.

She is survived by: her husband Richard Lehnert (Dick); her daughters, Heather Atkinson (Richard) and Lenore Kendrick; her sister V. A. Ospovat (Naaman); and her sister-in-law Marti Dermer. She is also survived by four grandchildren, one great-grandchild, many nieces, nephews and special friends.

“I knew Carmen, who was a good friend to me when I was attending Oklahoma State University from 1969 through 1974. I have many happy memories of spending time with Carmen. She was one of the first people to reach out to me when I was a first-year graduate student at OSU. I remember her as a strong, happy person who cared about others, especially her family and friends. I had the pleasure of living with Carmen for 3 years while I attended OSU and learned many things from her, which I treasure.”
