He is survived by: his wife Jo York; his daughters, Robin Hessel Griggs (Steve Griggs) of Stillwater and Susan Elaine Dietz of Austin; his son-in-law Ted Dietz; his granddaughter Candice Hessel; his great grandchild Grace of Austin, TX.; his grandson David Grant Hessel (Tara); his great grandchild Susie of San Marcos, TX.; his close friend Fern Green Bowling; and his caregivers, Josh Scott and Heather Jones.
A memorial gathering will be held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Legacy Chapel (5601 N Washington St, Stillwater, OK 74075).
In lieu of flowers the family recommends making a donation in his name to the first United Methodist Church of Stillwater.
