She was predeceased by: her parents, H. George Fifer and Dorothy Fifer; her husband Arless Abernathy; her son Michael Abernathy; her siblings, Edith March and Donald Fifer; her sons-in-law, Ralph Hegwald and Clair Tedder, Jr.; her grandson Chad Tedder; and her great grandchild Andrew Hegwald.

She is survived by: her children, Arlene Hegwald, Kathleen Tedder-Lovell (Keith), Patrick Abernathy and Dennis Abernathy (Polly); her grandchildren, Bill, Kyle, Kelly, Tosha, Tamara, Payton, Joshua, Derick, Lacy and Logan; and her friend Jayne Lane. She is also survived by 22 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren.
