He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Owen Cavett and Mary Evelyn Cavett (Garwood); his father-in-law Donald McKay; and his brother-in-law Arthur "Artie" Austin. He is survived by: his wife Paula McKay Cavett; his children, Kimberly Cavett and Mark Cavett; his brother Stan Cavett; his sisters-in-law, Marsha Austin and Debbie Cavett; his nieces, Amanda Austin, Jessica Cavett, Jayne Cavett and Misti Austin; his nephew Zach Austin; his great-niece Elise Austin Becker; and his great-nephew Knox Cavett Scarborough.
