He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Willie and Birdie Linzy (Vick). He is survived by: his siblings, Yolanda Owens (Jerry) of Stillwater, Valessa Hagler of Stillwater, Muriel Shinault (Linda) of Denver, Dean Shinault (Stacy) of Sachse and Robert Eugene Shinault Jr. (Cindy) of Cushing; his aunts, Elnora Sanders of Stillwater and Willie Ann Pradia of Stillwater; his close friend Marie Edwards of Stillwater; and his son Adrian Freeman of Oklahoma City. He is also survived by four grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
