He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Melcher (Lotte Melcher) and Lotte Melcher. He is survived by: his wife Karen Melcher; his daughters, Sonya (Jonathan Fogg) and Katherine Melcher (Mark Johnson); and his stepgrandson Alex Johnson.
