He was predeceased by : his parents, Orville Adams and Nancy Adams; his siblings, J. B. Adams and Margie Paul; and his grandson B. J. Emery.

He is survived by : his wife Ethel Adams; his children, David Allen (Jesus Ramirez) of Calif, Sandra Glasgow of Calif, Sue Hughes (Gary) of Okla and Don Adams Jr. (Staci Adams) of Calif; his grandchildren, Donna Chisholm (Scott), Kristal Emery, Audrey Taylor, Jessica Taylor, Imogen Adams, Amanda Adams, Jacob Adams, Jared Glasgow and Cameron Glasgow; and his brothers, Dale Adams (Linda) and Paul Adams. He is also survived by eleven great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
