It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Avo Walker of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, who passed away on April 20, 2025, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John Henry Beard and Mennie Cora Alverson Beard; her son Allan Walker; and her sisters, Hazel Basden, Jodie Purdom and Bonnie Dimock.
She is survived by: her husband Gerald Walker; her son Everett Walker of Newark; her grandchildren, Brian Walker of Newark, Kaylie McKendrick of Newark, Brady Allan Walker of Newark, Earl Bell of Texas and Daniel Bell of Tahlequah, Oklahoma; her siblings, Erdie Beard of Stidham, Oklahoma and Dean Eakle of Enterprise, Oklahoma; and her close friend Thomas Sanco. She is also survived by daughter-in-law, several nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, April 24th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Hart Funeral Home- Tahlequah (1506 N Grand Ave, Tahlequah, OK 74464). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 25th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location.
