Thelma Lucille Boyd Obituary
We mournfully announce the passing of Thelma Lucille Boyd, 88, of Tahlequah, OK.
Thelma took her first breath on March 29, 1935 to parents Vasco and Hattie Adney in Gore, OK. She took her last breath peacefully looking in her daughter Candi's eyes on November 27, 2023.
Thelma was an excellent homemaker. She gave her life to raising kids, being a nurses aid, a caregiver, a nanny and being a wonderful wife to her late husband, Bill. Bill and Thelma were married June 15, 1972. Bill precedes her in death October 25, 2015.
Thelma loved to cook, sew, clean house, and decorate. People always told her she missed her calling of being a home decorator. She made the best homemade yeast rolls, fried potatoes and many other things. Bill always joked he went to bed to the sound of laundry being done and woke up to the vacuum cleaner. Anyone who saw her house said you could eat off her floors.
Thelma was a very spunky woman who had a zest for life. She and Bill loved to wear matching Brooks and Dunn outfits and boots to go out dancing. They danced wonderfully together. I'm sure they're dancing on the floors of Heaven together again now. She was very proud. Make-up always on, loved to paint her nails, and she always smelled of Estee Lauder perfumes.
Thelma is survived by seven of her ten children, many generations of grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, cousins, and out of her three brothers and two sisters she survived by one ninety-five year old dear sister Olean.
