He was predeceased by: his mother Mary Jane McCartney (Tugmon); his sons, Billy McCartney and Robert McCartney; his brother-in-law Michael Turner; his nephew Robert Fronapfel; and his nieces, Jessica "Annie" Hughes and Krystal Tibbets.

He is survived by: his father Robert "Bob" McCartney of Tahlequah, Oklahoma; his son Lance McCartney of Brighton, Colorado; his wife Racquel McCartney of Brighton, Colorado; his stepchildren, Lonnie Kline (Matthew) of Elizabeth Town and Jerry Holdt (Kayla) of Grove, Oklahoma; and his siblings, Cathy Harshbarger (Bob) of NewCastle, Bonnie Hughes of Rock Springs, Julia Miller of Ore City and Bobbie Turner of Tahlequah, Oklahoma.
