He is survived by: his wife Sharon Kay Sturgill of Stigler, Oklahoma; his children, Craig Sturgill (Becky) of Warrenton, Virginia and Darci Montgomery (Jason) of Warrenton, Virginia; his grandchildren, Caleb Montgomery of Warrenton, Virginia, Joshua Montgomery of Warrenton, Virginia, Jacob Montgomery of Warrenton, Virginia, Elizabeth Sturgill of Warrenton, Virginia and Violet Sturgill of Warrenton, Virginia; and his brothers, Austin Sturgill (Karen) of Harrah and Jimmy Sturgill (Cindy) of Bethel. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, extended family.
