He was predeceased by: his parents, Lewis Wartley and Fannie Mae Wartley (Moore); his siblings, Willie Lee Johnson, Earnestine Hawkins, Bernice Roberts, Lewis Wartley Jr., John Wartley, Gordine Wartley, Lawrence Larry Wartley and Tommy Lee Wartley; and his grandchildren, Deshon Wartley and Jeremiah Brathwaite.
He is survived by: his wife Christine Wartley; his children, Phil Wartley (Meighan), Stephanie Holden (Tyrone), Stephen Wartley of Temple, Lashunda Brathwaite (Timothy) and Christopher Wartley (Kendi); and his brother Cleo L. Wartley, Sr. (Thelma). He is also survived by 23 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, other relatives and a host of friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home - Temple (122 W Texas St, Temple, OK 73568). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church (203 W Main St, Temple, OK 73568).
