He was predeceased by: his parents, Carroll Hanes and Juanita Hanes (Calloway); his son Jeffery Don Hanes; and his brother Carroll Dean Hanes. He is survived by: his son Charles "Chuck" Hanes (Adrian) of Elgin, Texas; his sister Susie McCormack of Sugarland, Texas; and his grandchildren, Alie Hanes (Juan Carlos Lopez) and Caroline Hanes.
