He was predeceased by: his parents, Claude Lawley and Theresa Lawley; and his brother-in-law Bob Nelson. He is survived by: his wife Donna Lawley; his son Jerry Lynn Lawley Jr. (Cheryl); his siblings, Gary Lawley (Pat) and Pat Nelson; his grandchildren, Brad Lawley, Jennifer Jackson (Jeremy), Kristen Miller and Carolyne Lawley; and his great grandchildren, Jason Lawley, Jackson Lawley, Jace Jackson, Jordan Jackson, Jake Jackson, Cade Risley, Jersey Miller, London Miller and Rebel Hopkins.

A funeral service was held on Tuesday, July 22nd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Clark Funeral Home (305 E Main St, Tishomingo, OK 73460).

A skilled breeder and dedicated competitor, Jerry's contributions to the Appaloosa Horse Club Racing community earned him a place in its Hall of Fame.
