He was predeceased by: his parents, A. D. Gipson and Minnie Gipson (Carter); and his siblings, James Gipson, Barbara Martinez, Vonda Factor and Leslie Gipson.

He is survived by: his wife Amanda Gipson; his sons, James Gipson (Ramona) and Ronald Gipson (Juanita); his grandsons, Corey Gipson (Elexis), Darrian Gipson and Memphis Gipson; his great grandchildren, Carver Gipson and Thorin Gipson; and his siblings-in-law, Lucy Harjo, Wisey Harjo, Katherine Harjo, Polly Owl, Toni Fixico and Willie Dean Harjo. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
