He was predeceased by: his parents, Bill Lawson and Verna Lawson (Stephens); his wife Betty Parker; his son James Lawson; his grandson BJ Lawson; and his sisters, Fern Schmauss, Pat Taylor, Diane Mathey and Carol Lynn.

He is survived by: his son Robert of Tulsa; and his granddaughters, Paula Ostrum, Christel Poston and Rose Mallory. He is also survived by 7 great grandchildren.
