He was predeceased by : his wife Marcia Vassar; and his children, Clay Vassar and Janet Hunter, his parents Clifford and Mamie Vassar and sister Mickey Bertie. He is survived by : his son-in-law Fred Hunter; his granddaughter Allison Barnhill (Brett Barnhill); and his great grandchildren, Beau and Hunter Barnhill, his nieces Sharon Scott, Sandra Hert, Tami Slish and nephew Sam Tyree as well as other nieces and nephews.
