“Mr. VP was a man of deep faith and an even deeper heart. I’ll always treasure the years I spent with him — four unforgettable years filled with hard work, laughter, and lessons I still carry with me today. Thanks to both Meredith and Craig, I was given a chance to be part of their painting business. At just 21 years old — broke, without a car, and with zero painting experience — Craig still took a chance on me. That alone says everything about the kind of man he was. I’ll never forget the memories we made: sharing lunch at Indian Palace, climbing rooftops, battling the elements as we painted through sweltering Tulsa summers and freezing winter days, or working together at the lake cabin at Grand Lake with Meredith and Katie by our side. Craig had a big heart, a sharp sense of humor, and a relentless work ethic. He didn’t just teach me a trade — he showed me what it looked like to work hard for your family, day in and day out. During that chapter of my life, I saw him as a father figure, and I’ll always be grateful for the impact he had on me.”

“25 years ago, I bought my 1st & only home, which was next door to the Van Pattens. They were the most wonderful and gracious neighbors! We exchanged keys and cared for each other's cats when the others traveled. I sent as many customers to Craig as possible, for no one else would prove as effective and reliable. We had many discussions across the fence. I was fortunate to be there with Jennifer when Meredith was tragically lost. I miss them and will miss Craig for the rest of my life.”
