Dale Ray Skillings Obituary

Dale Ray Skillings, age 79 of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away on Saturday, April 5, 2025. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at Whitebead Cemetery in Pauls Valley, OK. A Memorial Service will be scheduled at a later date in Tulsa.

Dale was born on April 1, 1946 in Guymon, OK to Robert and Olinda (Young) Skillings. He grew up in Goodwell, OK, before pursuing his B.S degree at Oklahoma State University. Dale served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in the Panama Canal during the Vietnam War.

Dale married E. Nadine "Sami" Skillings on August 21, 1971 in Pauls Valley, OK. They resided in many cities where Dale pursued his engineering career in Oil and Gas making lifelong friends along the way. Towards the end of his career, Dale was able to fulfill a lifelong dream of working with NASA on the space shuttle program in Cape Canaveral, Florida.

Dale had many hobbies throughout the years including restoring antique/classic cars, fishing, competitive game nights, golf, and many years of campouts as Scoutmaster with the Boy Scouts. His family was his pride and joy and he made every effort to be at his children's and grandchildren's many games and events.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years Sami of the home, son James Ray Skillings and wife Loretta of Rogers, AR, daughter Krista Skillings-Wilson and husband Rob Wilson of Claremore, OK, grandchildren, Joshua Ray and Callista Skillings, Sarah Skillings and fiancé Tallyn Morse, and Rebekah Skillings. He is also survived by his sister Robba Bryan of Goodwell, OK and her family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wounded Warriors or Disabled American Veterans.
