He was predeceased by : his parents, John Alvin and Wilma Ruth Vaughn; his grandparents, Dewey Vaughn, Berneice Vaughn, Louis Elmer and Ruffie Farmer; and his great grandchild Remington Vaughn.

He is survived by : his wife Beverly "Sue" Terry Vaughn; his children, Deana Vaughn, Trina Hooks, Melinda Fairchild and Tommy LeMasters; and his grandchildren, Chelsea Gibbons (Josh), Trenton Vaughn (Krista), Chase, Tanner, Tenlee Vaughn, Cody, Lacee, Randy Fairchild, Dillon Lemasters (Kristen), Bailey Young (Ryan) and Madison Lemasters. He is also survived by his numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He enjoyed various hobbies such as hunting, fishing, woodworking and volunteering for food donations in Cherokee County.
