She was predeceased by: her father Ernest; her former husband Charles J. Marcus, Sr.; her husband John Ray Buntyn; her son Bishop John R Buntyn Jr. (Ann); and her siblings, James Harris, O. D. Harris, Cherry Hardaway and Erma Harris.

She is survived by: her children, Tonnie Nichols (Boris), Dr. Lawana Marcus, Loretta Buntyn, Beverly Thomas (Cleo), Sylvia Poindexter (Benjamin), Yolanda Walton, Camilla Dillard, Patricia Dillard (Ronald), Atisha Dillard, Charles Marcus (Sandra), Timothy Buntyn (Rachel), Rudy Buntyn and Silvio Dillard; her grandchildren, Brandy Smith, Kesha Smith, Brian Smith Jr., Candace Smith, Charles Marcus III, April Marcus and Charity Marcus; her siblings, Bonnie Grayson, Joyce Rayner, Carolyn Kendrick, Angela Smith and Ernest L Harris; and her children, Ajarese Griffin, Mario Griffin, Ajia Griffin, Martez Griffin, Antton Pickett, Janelle Griffin and Janiyah Griffin. She is also survived by other relatives, nieces, nephews and friends.
