He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Sidney Mitchell and Iva Lorene Mitchell; his uncle Bill Mitchell; his daughter-in-law Krista Michaela Beck; his brother-in-law Michael Matheny; and his pet Dervish.
He is survived by: his wife Ruth Ellen Mattingly; his children, Jesse Daniel Mattingly-Killian, Phoebe Elora Mattingly-Parker (Forest Devon Parker) and Richard Aaron Mitchell (Annie Evelyn Mitchell); his grandchildren, Dexter and Eleanor; his sister Joann Whitley (Bill Whitley); his nephews, Scott and Jake; his sister Glenda Matheny; his nephew Chad; his niece Michelle; and his friends, Kerry Delk and Richard Bowman. He is also survived by many grand-nieces, grand-nephews and friends.
