He is survived by: his wife Jimmie Sue Hayes; his children, David Gerald Hayes of Tulsa and Kimberly Sue Hayes of Jenks, Oklahoma.; his brother Kendrick Hayes (Betty) of Muskogee; and his sister-in-law Norma Hayes of Paso Robles. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins.
