It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gussie Brown in Tulsa, Oklahoma, born in Stilwell, Oklahoma, who passed away on January 14, 2026, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Joe Hignite and Alma Hignite (Rose); her husband Robert Lee Brown; and her siblings, Vinia Presley, Charlotte Marrs, Jerry Lee Hignite, Haskell Hignite, Homer Hignite, Hubert Hignite and Joe Hignite.
She is survived by: her children, Cameron Brown (Christie) of Westville, Oklahoma, Clifton Brown (Anita) of Chewey, Oklahoma, Dee Ann Waldrop of Westville, Oklahoma and Lee Ann Richie (Wayne) of Westville; her sister Bernice Albright (Jeff) of Lincoln, Arkansas; and her grandchildren, Cory Brown, Chevy Brown, Kelsey York, Samantha Littlejohn, Ashlee Brown, Kyle Whitmire, Ashton Keeling, Ariel Shrum and Felicia Clauss. She is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren, 11 bonus great-grandchildren, extended family members, and friends.
