He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Catherine Claybaugh (Zehren); and his siblings, Marnie Harrington, Doris Horton and Dick Claybaugh. He is survived by: his children, Earl (Marguerite Claybaugh), Paula (Joe Baughn), Cathy (Dean Nistetter), Beth (Joel Turner) and Rick (Marisa Claybaugh); his sister Emma Nichols; and his brother-in-law Walt Horton. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and their spouses, 23 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Pius X School.
