He was predeceased by: his parents, Gladys Ghostbear and Ted Ghostbear. He is survived by: his nephew Matthew McBride; his wife Anne; his children, Ted Ghostbear, Jenny McElroy and Amy Beaudoin; his sons-in-law, Lincoln McElroy and Christopher Beaudoin; his sister Tedine Thurman; his siblings-in-law, Elizabeth Ashby and Tim DeMoss; and his cousins, Ahniwake Mills, Jody Dysinger and Randa Scott. He is also survived by many second cousins, nieces and nephews, extended family, and a host of friends.

People may celebrate John's life and honor him by donating to St. Luke's.
