He was predeceased by: his parents, John Schmook and Luella Schmook; his brother Chris Schmook; and his in-laws, Johnnie and Lena Kosted.
He is survived by: his wife Candice Kosted Schmook; his daughter Sara Marie Schmook-James; his son-in-law William James; his daughter Genevieve Lynn Schmook; his grandchildren, Genna Marie Schmook-James, Michael Neff and Hagin James; his siblings, Alan Schmook (Susan) and Faye Wylie (Sam); and his stepmother Joyce Schmook.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the City Lights Foundation of Oklahoma.
