It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Marvin Nelson Jr. of Tulsa, Oklahoma, who passed away on July 8, 2025, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Nelson and Winona Nelson; and his siblings, Deana, Paul, George, Hubert and Ronald.
He is survived by: his wife Carol; his children, Penny Garrison (Larry) of Bixby, OK, Lynelle Cooper (Tim) of Tulsa, OK, Nathan Nelson (Leah) of Bixby, OK and Lana Nelson (Barry Keith) of Grand Junction, CO; his grandchildren, Jessie, Samuel, James, Callie, Anila and Kai; and his siblings, Nadine, Ramona, James and Stephen.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Missions at Carbondale Assembly of God.
