He was predeceased by: his son Terry Griffin; his former wife Mamie Griffin; and his siblings, Merlin Griffin, Rena McCreary and Bobbie Burlingame.

He is survived by: his wife Sheryl Griffin; his children, Tonya, Barney Powell and Mike Griffin; and his sisters, Ahnnie Mills, Randa Scott and Jodie Dysinger. He is also survived by 4 grandkids, and 5 great grandkids.
