He was predeceased by: his parents, Rose Dowd and Thomas Dowd; his former wife Ruth McGovern Dowd; his daughter Deborah Dowd; and his brother James Dowd.
He is survived by: his wife Susan Berry Dowd; and his children, Karen Marie Yates (Steve Banda) of Long Valley, NJ, James Richard, Richard Thomas (Catherine) of Oceanside, NY and Michael Colin (Jessica) of San Diego, CA.. He is also survived by grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Catholic Charities of Tulsa, Blue Star Mothers of Tulsa, or Folds of Honor in Owasso.
