He was predeceased by: his parents, Gladden E. Gunnells and Mary Gunnells (Conn); his brother Ralph Gunnells; and his grandson Brandon Brito. He is survived by: his wife Viola Mae Gunnells; his children, Aimee Hawkins, Erika Ewing, Doran Gunnells, Caleb Gunnells and Nikki Gunnells; and his siblings, John (Mary Gunnells), Kathy (Scott Smith), David (Kim Gunnells), Bill Gunnells and Mary (Steve Carroll). He is also survived by 11 grandchildren.
