He was predeceased by : his parents, Charles Neil and Ilein Neil. He is survived by : his wife Catherine; his children, Lynn Preston (Larry), Michael (Leah) and Doug (Andrea); and his grandchildren, Jamie, Jenni, Ashley, Thomas, Samantha, Kadence, Tristyn and Rachel. He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren.
