He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Whitman and Ada Kissenger Whitman. He is survived by: his wife Jean Whitman of Tulsa, Oklahoma; his children, Jeff Whitman of Olathe and Melanie Whitman of Tulsa, Oklahoma; his grandchildren, Amy Byrd (Wes) of Powell, Justin Stirewalt (Virginia) of Orange, Caleb Stirewalt of Tulsa and Aaron Stirewalt of Tulsa, Oklahoma; his great grandchildren, Noelle of Powell, Tennessee, Micah of Powell, Tennessee and Finley Byrd of Powell, Tennessee; and his sister Ruth Richards (Ed) of Greenville. He is also survived by many friends and extended family.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorials be made to Florence Street Baptist Church, 200 E. 111th Street, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma 74011. ***Services will be live streamed starting at 9:55 AM on Saturday, March 27, 2021.
