He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Gutman and Miriam Gutman (Zukoff). He is survived by: his wife Janet; his stepsons, Todd Ellsworth of New Orleans and Eric Ellsworth (Whitney) of Tulsa; his grandchildren, Olivia, Holden, Luke and Reid Ellsworth; his sister Judy Cataldo (Dan) of Bellmore, NY; his cousins, Ann Imberman of Rolling Hills, CA, Mike Greenberg (Penny) of Wantagh, NY and Joni Ulmer (Ray) of Holland, PA; and his siblings-in-law, Linda Hopkins (Johnnie) of Tulsa and Gene Arnn of Westminster. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
He was awarded a NOAA Bronze Medal in 2010 for innovative contributions to the development of the Coastal Atmospheric River Monitoring and Early Warning System.
