As we bid Steven farewell, let us not mourn the absence of his physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of his spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Steven is not truly gone, but merely transformed, his energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry O'Brien and Marian O'Brien; and his sister Dr. Susan O'Brien. He is survived by: his wife Patty; his children, Sarah (Jon Tarkowski) of California and Breck of Arkansas; and his siblings, Kevin (Collette) of Colorado and Marian "Mimi" Smock (David) of Oklahoma. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
Visitation was held on Monday, May 4th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Fitzgerald Southwood Chapel (3612 E 91st St, Tulsa, OK 74137). A funeral service was held on Monday, May 4th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his name to the American Heart Association.
