“To Tommy and all Synthea’s children: There will always be a special place in my heart for my dear friend Synthea. I so regret having lost touch with her, and I’m feeling this loss tremendously. I met Raymond when he walked into Mrs. Minnie Ashford’s second grade class; I think we clicked from the start. Through his transition, I grew to love Synthea’s courage, though it may have been difficult to understand. I always told her, ‘As long as you are happy,’ and I meant it. I loved Synthea with all my heart, and I know I'll be with her one day in Heaven. Rest In Peace, my dear friend.”
