He was predeceased by: his parents, Arta Marie Sterling (Van Zandt) and John Homis Sterling; and his brother John Arthur Sterling of Hot Springs, Arkansas.. He is survived by: his wife Sandra Gay Arvidson; his daughters, Jill Patricia Sterling (John Hubbard) and Dana Sterling (Charles Bode); and his grandsons, Max Bode and Joe Bode.
