Vema touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Ed Cope and Willa Mae Cope; her former husbands, Michael Ross Downie and William Henderson (Ed); her husband Jim Wichmann; her siblings, Sally Cope, Kay Cope, Billie Sue Cope, Eddie Ray Cope and Billie Joe Cope; her son-in-law Steve Whitham; and her pets, Scooter, Boomer and Bones.
She is survived by: her son Michael Allen Downie; her daughters-in-law, Amanda Kay Rick and Audra Wichmann Whitham; and her grandchildren, William Robert Downie, Michael Ross Downie, Cordelia Arlene Downie, Erin Alexandra Downie, Todd Lee Barringer, Matthew John Abold, Autumn Kay Rick and Alex Whitham.
