Wanema Burney Obituary
We are sad to announce that on September 28, 2025, at the age of 93, Wanema Burney of Tuttle, Oklahoma passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though her name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint Wanema leaves upon the hearts of her loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of her spirit and the richness of her legacy.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Homer Cherry and Thelma Cherry (Drake); her husband James Burney; her daughter Tricia Burney; her granddaughter Kylie Hoover; and her great grandchild Layden Roberts.
She is survived by: her daughters, Tyanne Garcia and Tawana Riley (Mike).
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 7th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Tuttle Methodist Church (402 S Cimarron Rd, Tuttle, OK 73089).
