He was predeceased by : his parents, Morris Johnson and Lois Hewitt; his daughter Ouida Kay Johnson; and his sisters, LaDonna Williams and Irene Jackson.

He is survived by : his wife Carolyn Denise Doake; his daughters, Denise (Rex Hiebert), Jennifer (James Farris), Kelly (Kody McDowell) and Sara (Justin Smart); his grandchildren, Rex Hiebert Jr. (Bridget), Jimmy Farris (Kaleigh), Makayla Patton (Tyler), Josh Farris (Kason Johnson) and Kooper McDowell (Karlee McDowell); and his great grandchildren, Ella, Deklan, Kynadi, Audrey, Kreed and Caden.
