It is with sadness that the passing of Evelyn Elizabeth Bridgers of Walters, Oklahoma is shared. Evelyn, born on May 16, 1943, passed away on October 15, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Dossey Levi and Ethel Evelyn Hopson (Williams); and her siblings, Ellis Hopson, Myrtle Hyden, Ben Hopson, Jimmy Lee Hopson and Maxine Young.
She is survived by: her husband Lindley Bridgers; her daughter Karen Newman (Robert); her stepson Cody Newman of Walters; her daughters, Debbie Emerick of Dandridge, TN, Emily Emerick (Matthew Emerick) of Dandridge, Angelica, Apollo, Artemis and Leann Martin (James); and her sister Lavon Teague of Splendora, TX. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Viewing was held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM and on Sunday, October 18th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home - Walters (202 E Colorado Ave, Walters, OK 73572). A funeral service was held on Monday, October 19th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Duncan Municipal Cemetery (1910 W Cypress Ave, Duncan, OK 73533).
