She was predeceased by: her parents, George Altus and Amanda Irene Reel; her husband Curt Gwaltney; her sons, Dr. Charles Hillis and Edward Hillis; her brothers, Charles Reel, Bob Reel and Don Reel; and her granddaughter Carrie Gaines Frizzell (Gary).
She is survived by: her daughter Ann Gaines (Roy); her grandchildren, Carson Gaines (Becky), Jon Hillis (Shirin), Eric Hillis (Amanda), Steven Hillis (Theo) and Chris Wodjak; and her daughters-in-law, Joan Elliott, Kim Spencer and Ann Brewer A.. She is also survived by eleven great grandchildren.
