He was predeceased by: his parents, John Henry and Mennie Cora Beard (Alverson); his former wife Lorene Boatmum; his daughters, Lona Gawf and Betty Ingram; his sisters, Avo Earl Walker, Bonnie Sue Dimock, Hazel Audrey Basden, Shirley Rose Holley and Jodie Purdom; and his grandsons, Charlie Ingram and David Wagnon.
He is survived by: his wife Neoma Lee Mitchell (Ingram); his children, Tommy Mitchell (Sandra) of Checotah, Donna Bedford of Longtown, Regina Burns (Roger) of Eufaula and Johnnie Young of Eufaula; and his son-in-law Pat Gawf (Dean Eakle). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM and on Sunday, October 12th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Hunn, Black & Merritt Funeral Home & Crematory (401 N Main St, Eufaula, OK 74432). A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 13th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Mountain Home Cemetery/Beaver Mountain Cemetery.
