He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard Virgil and Georgia Lavern Smith (Hays); his former wives, Linda Gomke and Linda Smith; and his siblings, Ronald Gene Smith and Nola Laverne Carter.
He is survived by: his wife Katherine Smith; his stepson Jeramya Mouton of Watonga; his siblings, Leonard Smith (Teresa) and Tresia Mae Pendergraft of Shawnee, Oklahoma; and his sister-in-law Sandy Wagner of Bismarck. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
