He was predeceased by: his parents, James C. Hunter and Phyllis M. Brinker Hunter. He is survived by: his daughters, Laura Finley and Debbie Hunter Wilczek; his grandchildren, Jackson, Alex, Addison and Joe; and his siblings, Susan Powell, Mike Hunter and Michelle Beckner.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his honor to Warriors for Freedom or Toys for Tots with Brown-Cummings serving as custodian of the funds.
