It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Derek James Nelson of Weatherford, Oklahoma, born in Los Angeles, California, who passed away on April 17, 2022, at the age of 61, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, James Robert and Barbara Sue Nelson (Jones). He is survived by : his children, Travis Nelson (Shelbi Mann) of Chickasha and Ashley Dickens (Joshua) of Weatherford; his sister Shelley Hoerber (Steve) of Moreno Valley, California; and his grandson Jeremiah.

Memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church.
